DESCRIPTION:Screenshot\n\n\n\n\nLennard-Jones Centre & TYC Summer School Light on atomistic simulation Share on X\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Lennard-Jones Centre is organising a “summer school light” on atomistic simulation\, principally aimed at PhD students who started between October 2025 and October 2026\, inclusive. Each day will take a different topic\, with introductory lectures by a mix of faculty and young researchers from the LJC (Cambridge) and the Thomas Young Centre (London)\, and hands-on tutorials in the afternoon.   \n\n\n\nOn Tuesday evening\, a Soirée will be held in the Howard Building at Downing College\, comprising of a lecture given by Prof. Angel Rubio\, with drinks and nibbles afterwards\, to which the whole community is invited.  \n\n\n\nThe summer school is “light” because participants organise their own accommodation (hopefully most of you already have Cambridge or London accommodation already)\, and all you need to participate in the tutorials is a laptop. Lunches will be provided every day (in the foyer of the Bristol-Myers-Squibb Lecture Theatre)\, but not dinners (except the nibbles at the Soirée on Tuesday).  \n\n\n\nThe cost is £150 for 5-day participation. Students coming from outside Cambridge (e.g. TYC students coming from London\, or students from participating Max Planck research groups) can either pay the same and attend all week\, or pay a reduced £75 fee for any 2 days (including the Soirée).
