DESCRIPTION:TYC Welcome Day 2026 Share on X\n\n\n\n\nWe are delighted to invite you to our in-person TYC Welcome Event – a great opportunity to discover the many benefits of being part of this vibrant and collaborative research community\, while beginning to build connections with fellow students and researchers. \n\n\n\nDuring the event\, a panel of current TYC PhD students and postdoctoral researchers will share their experiences\, answer your questions\, and provide an overview of TYC activities\, opportunities\, and ways to get involved. \n\n\n\nTo help shape the discussion\, please tell us a little about your PhD research topic and submit one or more questions you would like the panel to address. You can ask about anything\, from student life in London and life within the TYC community to the challenges and rewards of undertaking a PhD. All questions will be presented and answered anonymously. \n\n\n\nTo register\, please email Karen at tyc-administrator@ucl.ac.uk with your confirmation of attendance\, your PhD topic\, and your question(s). DESCRIPTION:2026 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTYC20 – Celebration of the Thomas Young Centre at 20 Share on X\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTo mark the Thomas Young Centre turning 20\, we will be hosting a 2-day symposium\,  celebrating 20 years of cutting-edge research in the theory and simulation of materials and molecules at University College London\, Imperial College London\, King’s College London\, Queen Mary University of London and their international collaborators. \n\n\n\nThis scientific symposium will cover cutting-edge research in 5 sessions dedicated to Electronic Structure Theory\, Machine Learning\, Functional Materials\, Biomaterials and Perspectives on Materials Modelling.
