TYC Industry: How to establish effective collaborations with industrial partners?

This event is aimed at TYC PIs and post-docs interested in learning how to collaborate with industry or want to strengthen on-going partnerships.

Recent changes to the UK research funding landscape, including the UKRI utilising an outcome-focused approach, are incentivising the development of industry partnerships at universities. This TYC workshop will give an overview of how to effectively engage with industry in a fast-changing R&D landscape, alongside with presenting current mechanisms for collaborations and funding. We will provide recommendations to overcome typical challenges when interacting with industry researchers and best chances for support with mutual benefits. The invited speakers will share their views of what industry is currently looking for in academics. At a Q&A session we will discuss best practices how to establish meaningful collaborations.

The workshop will be delivered by Dr. Enrique Galindo-Nava, TYC’s Industry lead; Prof. Alexander Shluger, co-director of the TYC@UCL; Prof. Chris Howard, Director and Co-founder of Prosemino ltd; and Dr. Shambhawi Pandey, Chief Scientist at Green Catalysis Ltd.
