Research summary
My research focuses on carbon materials, particularly on their structure-property relationships, with applications in energy storage and gas separation. A key interest lies in understanding the porosity of disordered carbons, which play a critical role in various technologies. For example, the interconnected pores in carbon materials serve as reservoirs for ion storage in alkali-ion batteries and enable gas selectivity and separation when used as nanomembranes in sensors.
