Research summary
I am interested in self-assembly out of equilibrium, ranging from inorganic materials like cement to biological structures in the cell. I use coarse-grained models and a mixture of computational and analytical techniques to understand how complex structures emerge from simple building blocks. Some systems I am currently excited about are the cytoskeleton, the cell membrane, protein aggregates and networks, as well as active colloids.
