Research summary

My research group focuses in applying Statistical Mechanics and various numerical techniques (Monte Carlo, Molecular Dynamics, Machine Learning) to study Soft Matter systems and their applications at the interface between nanotechnology and biology, biosensing, targeted drug-delivery using nanoparticles and self-assembly being the main themes of interest. Broadly speaking, our goal is to understand how to enhance a material performance by tuning the microscopic interaction between its components, or between the material and the environment, exploiting various molecules such as proteins, DNA and other polymers of both of synthetic and biological origin.
